Project CARS

Recommended Posts

I still stand by my previous statement that 3rd person weather effects look more realistic in Project CARS, and first person looks more realistic in Drive Club.

Both games look great overall though, and in absolutely zero way does PCars look cartoonish.

There's some good info about online play here.

Some highlights that I like:

  • Fill With AI - Hosts can elect to fill the grid with AI opponents if the lobby isn't filled with humans
  • Host Migration - if the host leaves, someone else automatically takes over that role
  • Friend Lobbies - designed for you and your friends to play in a more trustworthy environment with a host determining when the game starts based on communication amongst your friends either by text (PC) or voice chat (PS4, Xbox One). Players can join Friend Lobbies either by choosing 'Join Game' from their Friend List or from being invited in by someone already in the lobby.

I've pre-ordered for PS4.  I don't think I have enough of a PC to play it as well as the PS4 can.

Hmm, ok; the graphics would be ridiculous on a PC, but I can get the PS4 version. The US digital pre-order isn't available for some reason, which is garbage; its broken. The UK one is available, but that makes sense though.

I preordered for PS4 mainly because at the time I didn't have a PC that could run it, even on minimum settings.  Even with the upgrades I've just got, my CPU is still lacking.

Plus I've got other friends that are getting it for PS4.

From IGN:

The important thing is Project CARS wants to make me feel like a racing driver just like FIFA wants to put players on the pitch in their favourite football team.

It worked
